SUMMARY:Leading and Coaching Across Cultures Seminar Series - Institute of Coaching (Harvard University) - 9 April - 21 May 2024
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand! We are doing “Leading and Coaching Across Cultures” seminar again to serve attendees in time zones across the globe\, including friendly times for Asia and other regions. We are offering the seminar in cooperation with the Institute of Coaching McLean\, Affiliate of Harvard Medical School. \nThe seminar includes six 60/90 minute sessions between the 9 October and 21 May 2024. Click HERE for more information and to register! \nYou will learn to systematically integrate culture into your coaching with individuals\, teams\, and organizations to make the most of alternative cultural perspectives for expanded awareness\, greater creativity\, and increased unity. \nTraditional coaching has implicitly reflected particular norms\, values and basic assumptions that do not necessarily hold true universally. However\, from notions of time to patterns of communication\, all human endeavors are influenced by culture. Building upon Philippe Rosinski’s seminal book “Coaching Across Cultures”\, this seminar will allow you to weave culture into your coaching practice so it can become fully effective in today’s intercultural environment. Moreover\, you will discover how intercultural coaching can be positioned in the context of an even more ambitious vision for coaching\, which also integrates physical\, managerial\, psychological\, political and spiritual perspectives. \nYou will become familiar with the Cultural Orientations Framework (COF)\, a roadmap to navigate the cultural terrain. While still allowing comparison of individual profiles with various national cultures\, the COF assessment has a much broader scope. It aims at helping individuals grow by learning from cultural differences of various kinds. Culture here consists of all the characteristics we have acquired along the way\, by interacting with various groups of people and being part of different cultural groups (family\, generation\, profession\, company\, country\, religion\, etc.). The COF assessment can be viewed as an equivalent\, at the cultural level\, to a personality assessment such as the MBTI®. \nHere is some feedback from the first edition in November 2023: \n“I very much appreciated the very clear information provided from the outset and throughout the course\, the amazing support from IOC and the great resources. The content was excellent\, the interactive and the more didactic sessions were fantastic\, and there was a lot of valuable information provided. I appreciated the support staff\, fellow participants\, and most of all Philippe\, who was absolutely fantastic in all regards! Much appreciation to you all!”\nCatherine Ebelke \n“The program gave me a completely new\, wider and more knowledgeable approach to Team coaching.”\nAntonella Santini \n“As a coach\, I find it invaluable to learn about approaches to explore different perspectives with my clients. It has been great to work with the multiple perspectives introduced in the course. It gave me a chance to become more aware of my ‘go-to’ perspectives and an opportunity to practice using questions from the other perspectives.”\nNicole Brigandi \n“Thank you to IOC for offering this training in a concise format\, and deep gratitude to Philippe Rosinski for his expertise\, flexibility\, listening skills\, and the valuable insights he shared with us during this training.”\nJeanne-Elvire Adotévi Biliès \n“Philippe is such a great communicator and coach. I appreciated that we rotated education and group work/coaching each week.”\nAshley Williams \n“Prof. Rosinski was engaging and kept the participants involved in the process.”\nJack Pennuto Jr. \n“I appreciated Philippe’s expertise and the opportunity to learn\, share\, and practice with other coaches give new inspiration.”\nIlona Tse \n“I appreciated taking the COF assessment the most and interpreting my own biases.” \n“The course provided me with the skills to infuse culture into coaching sessions for my team. It highlighted the importance of integrating diverse cultural perspectives to enhance creativity and promote team connectedness.”

The Cultural Orientations Framework offers a powerful and versatile framework\, with which to better understand and leverage the potential of cultural differences across individuals and groups. The program was carefully curated to be a blend of theoretical inputs coupled with hands-on practical application of concepts – the diversity and multicultural nature of my program cohort was in itself a rich source of insights. I’m looking forward to applying the tools and concepts I’ve learnt\, on both my coaching assignments\, as well as in my organizational work context which involves communication and change management across multiple geographies and organizations.\nRaj Dharmaraj\, India\n \nA highly recommended seminar\, brilliantly delivered!
